‘Wake up!’ beamed the begonia to the bee Spring’s here at last - come! Look and see! And the daffodils waved And the tulips bowed And the bee buzzed and danced To this magical, Spring-time scene. Out peeps the squirrel from his Winter’s sleep Soon to be a butterfly The chrysalis shall be, Dancing, whirling amongst the chatter Baby robins in their nest Food from their mother They’re all a clatter. Warmth on the face Eyes alight Spring is here Beckoning all that is new And fresh and bright. And the stem of the rose Pushes her face to the sun Promising petals of hope For a world renewed Woken up From a Winter’s dream.
